EL PASO, Texas—GECU said it is offering a $300 checking account bonus for new and existing members as part of a promotion aimed at driving everyday account growth and deepening member relationships. The offer runs through July 31, 2026.
To qualify, members must open a new personal, youth or senior checking account and receive at least $2,000 in qualifying direct deposits within 90 days of account opening, while also maintaining a $500 average daily balance for 90 days, the credit union said. GECU said the promotion is designed to help members get more value from their checking accounts while supporting broader savings goals.
“GECU is committed to offering products and services that help our members’ money work harder for them,” Leticia Bueno, VP of the New Account Relationship Center, said in a statement. In addition to the bonus, GECU said its checking accounts include no monthly service fees, 24/7 account access, a Mastercard debit card and access to more than 80,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide.
