STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – FreeStar Financial Credit Union, established in 1957 at what is now Selfridge Air National Guard Base, will be celebrating its 60th anniversary by hosting a free shredding day with refreshments and prizes Saturday, Sept. 16, from noon-2 p.m. at its Sterling Heights branch.
“This is our third year offering members and the local community an opportunity to properly dispose of their confidential paperwork,” said Drema Isaac, president and CEO. “We are proud that for 60 years we have been able to continue to serve our military and community members by providing financial products and education that help enrich their lives. As we commemorate our 60th anniversary, we hope to see many of our loyal members as well as new friends as we celebrate with refreshments and prizes also.”
Bulldog Records Management of Fraser will shred paperwork on behalf of FreeStar Financial. Each person can shred up to two boxes (12”x12”x15”) and a maximum weight of 30 pounds for free. Additional boxes will be assessed a $5 charge payable to the Bulldog representative at time of disposal.
