FreeStar Financial VA Home Loan Promo Raises Donations

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – FreeStar Financial Credit Union is donating $200 to a military charity whenever a member closes on a VA home loan. The credit union, started in 1957 at what is now Selfridge Air National Guard Base, serves military members in Michigan and the community from 10 counties in Southeast Michigan.

“We are very proud to serve our military members who have been so loyal to our credit union over the past 59 years,” said Drema Isaac, President and CEO. “By offering qualified veterans an opportunity to own a home with no money down, and give $200 to a military charity, it’s a win-win.”

The credit union is suggesting two local charities: Pets for Vets of Southeast Michigan and Vets Returning Home, Roseville, Mich., to receive the donations. If a member wants to select another approved military charity, their donation would be applied in their name to that one.
