SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich.–FreeStar Financial Credit Union has awarded $10,000 to a member who won a promotion open to all those who applied for and closed on a qualifying home equity line of xredit or mortgage loan of $25,000 or more during the promotion period.
The live drawing was held via Facebook Live and all members were invited to share in the excitement. The winner was chosen, notified, and invited to their nearest branch for a surprise celebration, the credit union said.
“When I received the phone call, I could not believe I had won,” said winner Matt P.
When Matt arrived at the Shelby Township location, he was greeted with cheers, balloons, confetti, and music. Drema Isaac, president and CEO of FreeStar Financial, thanked him, said a few words, and then presented a $10,000 check.
“This award money will help to give my family a great Christmas, as well as pay down some debt. I am so glad that I chose FreeStar Financial for my loan. The process was fast and easy, and I know that becoming a member with FreeStar Financial was the best decision I made,” said Matt P.
During the $10k Giveaway promotional period, FreeStar Financial said it saw an increase in new mortgage loans and HELOCs, despite the volatile housing market.
