APPLETON, Wis.– The Greater Fox Cities Chapter of Credit Unions charity golf outing, which raises funds for Stock the Shelves, raised a record $42,000.
“Our goal this year was to hopefully raise $20,000, as we knew many people’s situations may be tougher because of COVID-19,” the Chapter said. “We also implemented several safety precautions, for this reason, to ensure a healthy and enjoyable event. This included initiating an online bidding platform for the silent auction for the first time ever, with the help of our friends at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. After wrapping up the Golf Outing, one of our member credit unions reached out and added an additional $2,000 donation. This year, especially, the generosity of so many has had no bounds.”
The chapter noted the outing could not happen without the support of local credit unions, credit union partners, businesses, and the community. It is this great team effort that makes all things possible to help local families get the food they so desperately need, this year more than ever,” the chapter.
Participating credit unions included Badger Globe, Capital, CONE, CoVantage, Evergreen, Fox Communities, Health Care, Oshkosh Community, PCM, Premier Financial, Prospera, Thrivent Federal, Unison, Verve, Winnebago Community and Wisconsin’s Medical Credit Union.
