NEWCASTLE, Okla.– Focus Federal Credit Union has presented Oklahoma’s Tri-City communities with $10,000 in donations as a result of the Refi-Tri savings initiative which took place over the last 13 months.
Refi-Tri’s goal was to save the residents and workers in the Tri-City area $100,000 in interest and donate money back to each community once the milestone was reached. To get the communities more involved, an online voting site was set up so community members could learn about saving and vote for their favorite town. The town with the most votes would receive $5,000, the second place town would be awarded $3,000 and the third place winner would get $2,000! The saving goal was finally achieved on September 16th.
The checks were presented at Focus FCU’s Tri-City Branch in Newcastle, Okla. Representatives from the Blanchard, Newcastle and Tuttle Chambers of Commerce we in attendance to accept the donations. The town of Blanchard won first place, followed by Newcastle in second place and Tuttle winning third.
“Being able to give back to Tri-City makes us very happy,” said Kyle Roush, President and CEO at Focus FCU. “Whether they are our members or our neighbors in the community, Focus Federal Credit Union is committed to the philosophy of ‘people helping people,’” Roush said. Tri-City Branch Manager Della Davis added, “It’s been a remarkable year. In addition to meeting member’s needs, we made so many new friends and were pleased to be involved in many community initiatives throughout the Tri-City area.”
