First New York Makes 5th Grader Millionaire for a Day

BURNT HILLS/BALLSTON LAKE, N.Y.–Sarah Kennedy, a 5th  grade student at Richard H. O’Rourke Middle School in Burnt Hills- Ballston Lake, was treated like a Millionaire for a Day by First New York Federal Credit Union.

First New York Federal Credit Union has been teaching thousands of area students for years to save their money through its KID$ (Keep Investing Dollars Savings) Program. To celebrate the students’ success, the credit union randomly selected a KID$ Member to be treated like a millionaire.

As the Millionaire for a Day, Sarah Kennedy received a gift certificate to Ruggierio’s Deli & Pizza (her favorite pizza place), a gift certificate to Stewart’s Shops for ice cream, a VISA gift certificate to go shopping, and a backpack full of school supplies.  Sarah also had an on-air interview with 99.5 The River.  Sarah, like many other students at O’Rourke Middle School, makes regular deposits each week and she plans on buying a car some day with all she is saving.
