First Financial Donates $20K to Groups

SPARKS, Md.–First Financial FCU has donated nearly $20,000 to several local organizations.

In October 2020, First Financial FCU kicked off a membership campaign providing cash rewards for new members, as well as donations to local charitable organizations for each new member.

Through the month-long campaign, each member joining the credit union received a $50 deposit, with the opportunity to earn up to $100 more for choosing select products featured in the campaign. In addition, First Financial also donated $50 to charity on behalf of each new member. As a result, First Financial proudly donated a total of $19,350 to Boys & Girls Club of Westminster, Carroll County Food Sunday, Education Foundation of Baltimore County and Maryland Food Bank. As an education-based credit union, First Financial said it chose the organizations for the missions they support within education and for the valuable work they do within the community.

“This campaign far exceeded our expectations,” said First Financial Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Stephanie Peltzer. “And it gave us a great opportunity to provide additional support to charitable organizations we’re already proud to partner with. These organizations are moving mountains in addressing core needs of our community, from access to education and mentoring for at-risk youth, to much-needed nutrition for those experiencing hunger in our community. We’re excited to be able to provide these donations to help them continue the amazing work they do.”
