YORK, Penn.–First Capital Federal Credit Union staff helped sort books in preparation for the York Hospital Auxiliary’s Book Nook Bonanza at the York City Ice Arena.
This annual event offers more than 250,000 books, as well as puzzles, DVDs, and artwork for sale at low prices. Throughout the year, these items are donated to the sale by members of the community.
First Capital volunteered at the warehouse as part of the United Way Day of Action. The Day of Action is one of the largest volunteer events in York County. Hundreds of individuals participated in more than 60 projects at local agencies.
“It was a great opportunity to get out in the community and live our mission of people helping people,” said Tara Houser, VP of Marketing. “It’s rewarding to know that we are giving back to those in our community.”
