LAKE JACKSON, Texas–TDECU – Your Credit Union participated in Discover Day, a company-wide day of service volunteer event, at the Houston Food Bank. TDECU Employees filled the facility and together, packed nearly 18,500 pounds of food.
Discover Day is a day for TDECU Employees to actively go out and give back to the community, as well as experience personal development. This year, Cy Wakeman, President and Founder of Reality-Based Leadership, and Gian Paul Gonzalez, Executive Director of All In, spoke at the day-long event to better improve the lives of TDECU Employees.
In total, TDECU sorted approximately 1,300 boxes of rice and put together over 2,560 boxes from the Houston Food Bank’s food drives. Additionally, TDECU also donated $10,000 to the Houston Food Bank and $5,000 each to Food Bank of the Golden Crescent in Victoria, Texas and the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas.
