BURNSVILLE, Minn.–Firefly Credit Union dedicated the month of March to raising funds in support of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Minneapolis, an organization that houses individuals diagnosed with cancer for weeks, or even months, as they seek treatment. There is no cost to stay at the Hope Lodge, all locations are supported through donated time and money.
Firefly noted that while the stay at the Hope Lodge of Minneapolis is free, patients and their caregivers still need to provide their own meals, which is where Firefly stepped in. All collected funds will go directly towards providing groceries and meals for the patients and their caregivers.
During Firefly Credit Union’s fundraiser month, employees were able to donate money and participate in many exciting activities. The charitable events included:
- Flamingo Insurance
- Bingo
- Ping-Pong Tournament
- Dip-Off Competition
- Silent Auction Baskets
- Jeans Days
With a month’s work and generous employee participation, Firefly Credit Union raised a total of $4,232 to donate to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Minneapolis.
“What an exciting month we had here at Firefly. Year after year our employees show their generosity and exceed expectations,” said Firefly Credit Union President/CEO Bill Raker. “Thousands of individuals across Minnesota are diagnosed with cancer every year. To be able to dedicate our time and resources to give back to those who need it most is something that we love to do!”
