BURNSVILLE, Minn.–The holiday season is well on its way as Firefly Credit Union reports it continues to give back to the organizations in their community.
Firefly Credit Union hosted an employee-wide Volunteer Fair at which it said it sparked a desire to create change. A handful of major organizations gathered together at the corporate office for an evening full of fun, food and generosity. The diverse group of organizations included:
- Feed My Starving Children
- Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue
- Memorial Blood Centers
- Special Olympics Minnesota
- 360 Communities
- Bridging
- Prepare & Prosper
- Junior Achievement
- American Cancer Society
Employees who attended the fair were awarded with a $5 donation ticket provided by Firefly Credit Union, in which they could distribute to the organization of their choice. Firefly reported around 100 employees attended the fair and more than $1,000 in donations were raised.
“This was our very first volunteer fair and I think it is safe to say it won’t be our last, said Bill Raker, president/CEO of Firefly Credit Union. “It was a great way to get our employees involved in giving back to the greater community, something Firefly holds dear to its heart.”
