DOWNEY, Calif. - Financial Partners Credit Union is proud to announce its sponsorship of Rocket Fever, Los Angeles’ only urban Rocket Festival, at Columbia Memorial Space Center. Celebrating its 6th year, the annual celebration of modern rocketry takes flight on Saturday, August 20,, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
As a major sponsor of Rocket Fever, Financial Partners members and local residents will receive free admission to this amazing event which includes building, decorating and launching your own rocket! The center will also host various activities including straw, water, and stomp rockets, a cardboard maker space, interactive exhibits, a giant space shuttle jumper, and live music by The Amoeba People. CMSC will also have food truck on site. Financial Partners Credit Union’s goal is to bring a day of fun for the entire family to Downey providing a full day of great science activities, and prizes available at the Financial Partners booth.
The festival is held at the Columbia Memorial Space Center, located in Downey, CA, the site where NASA designed and built the Apollo capsules that went to the moon and, later, created all of the Space Shuttles. Financial Partners shares this rich history as it was founded nearly 80 years ago to serve the aerospace employees.
