BEAUMONT, Texas--Education First Federal Credit Union is proud to announce its scholarship recipients for the Class of 2016. Over the last several weeks, representatives from Education First have personally presented $1000 scholarships to 37 local high school seniors in Southeast Texas.
Last year, the amount of the scholarship was increased from $750 to $1000, and since 1999, when we first began distributing our scholarship, we have given out $340,000. This year’s round of grads will bring that total to $377,000.
The recipients are chosen by their counselors or by their high school’s scholarship committee each year, and a certificate is presented by a representative from Education First at each school’s scholarship awards presentation.
