ROMEOVILLE, Ill.—Earthmover Credit Union has broken ground on a new branch here that is expected to open in early 2027 as the credit union continues expanding its footprint across northern Illinois.
The new branch, located at 400 S. Weber Rd. near the intersection of Airport and Weber roads, will become Earthmover’s sixth full-service location in addition to its student-run branch. President and CEO Janel Cabadas said the growing Romeoville market was identified through field-of-membership analysis as an opportunity to better serve existing members while attracting new ones.
“We are looking for growth and to better serve our community,” Cabadas said in a statement. “Investing in the Romeoville community by building a branch is the first step.” Earthmover officials, staff and board members participated in a ceremonial groundbreaking event April 22.
The project is being led by Wisconsin-based The Redmond Company, which specializes in financial institution design and construction. Construction is scheduled to begin June 1, with the branch expected to open in spring 2027. Earthmover CU, founded in 1958, serves more than 30,000 members across seven Illinois counties and recently opened a new branch in Batavia.
