LAKE FOREST, Calif.–Rep. Loretta Sanchez’s office recently recognized Eagle Community Credit Union for its efforts with the Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Sanchez’s representative, Robert Banuelos, met and joined a group from the credit union at the Anaheim post office for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the nation’s largest one-day food collection effort.
“He was so impressed by the efforts and the amount of food collected that he wanted to recognize the Anaheim post office and our entire team for all of their hard work,” said Eagle Community CU Vice President of Marketing Erica Beach. “Overall the total food collected in Orange County was more than 295,000 pounds of food; a 42% increase over last year. They definitely contribute this increase to the new brown bags that Eagle Community Credit Union sponsored for the district once again this year with new partners—CO-OP Financial Services, Total Environmental Management, Ralphs, and Food4Less.”
The Eagle Community CU Anaheim location Stamp Out Hunger team consisted of Administration Support Barbara McRae; Collections Administrator Lizette Quintana; former Loan Processor Jarrod Watts and his daughter; Member Service Representative 2 Sarah Wight; and CEO Scott Rains. They were later joined by Branch Manager Nguyen Dao and her son, who came from another location to assist.
“Most stayed as late as 9 p.m. to ensure all of the food donated got to the food banks,” Beach said.
McRae, Wight, Dao, and Rains accepted the award on behalf of the Eagle Community CU team at a ceremony held at the Orange County Food Bank.
