MIDLAND, Mich.–Employees at Dow Chemical Employees CU recently participated in two different volunteer projects: Midland County Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week and an Adopt-A-Street cleanup project.
Twenty DCECU employees served as volunteers for Midland County Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week, an annual event that empowers women to serve as housing construction volunteers – a Habitat for Humanity volunteer role in which women typically are significantly underrepresented, according to the organization.
In addition to providing a crew of volunteers, DCECU also served as a T-shirt sponsor for the event.
Eight DCECU employees cleaned litter from nearly a mile of the boulevard area near the credit union – between East Lyon and East Patrick roads, from Pine Street to Washington Street, including around the bicycle and pedestrian path that runs through the boulevard – through the Adopt-A-Street program.
“DCECU is proud of our employees’ willingness to answer the call to help improve our community,” said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. “The 20-plus employees who volunteered to assist with these two projects are shining examples of the credit union’s commitment to giving back to the community at large.”
