READING, Penn.–The entire staff and board of directors at Diamond CU took action against cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is the eleventh year that Diamond CU has made the Relay one of their fundraising focuses, and the credit union is pleased to announce that it’s a record year for fundraising. T
he 2016 total donation by the Diamond’s Hope Relay Teams is $90,000, adding to an 11-year total of more than $736,000.. A complete video announcement can be found here.
According to DCU, the total donation was accomplished with multiple fundraising events held throughout the year, including two Bingo events, Glow Golf, Dance and Chance (Beef & Beer), the Annual Charity Golf Invitational, Wine Tasting Event, a two-week long Shredding Event made possible by Access, several Bake Sales and Hot Dog Days, Coffee and Calendar Sales, Jeans Days, and the support of the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta School students who held a coin drive as part of their Relay Recess.
“Our staff is truly amazing. They take the opportunity to support the American Cancer Society and run with it, because they see how the ACS helps their friends, family and our members on a daily basis. I just can’t thank our volunteers enough for their dedication. Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of our sponsors, business partners, vendors, and the unmatched generosity of Diamond members,” stated John Faust, President/CEO of Diamond Credit Union.
