READING, Penn.–Diamond Credit Union was the Tower Sponsor of the Reading Hospital Road Run here, which went from the William Penn Fire Tower in Mount Penn to Center City Reading.
The event expanded from a 5k and fun run to include a half marathon this year. In addition to being the lead sponsor of the event, Diamond employee volunteers were on hand to help hand out medals and Diamond’s mascot, Chip, was there to cheer on runners.
The event benefits the “Friends of the Reading Hospital,” which is a volunteer organization that seeks to improve the health of Berks County through initiatives such as HeartSAFE Berks County.
“Congratulations to ‘The Friends of the Reading Hospital’ for putting this miraculous event together. It’s really grown from its roots on the hospital grounds to a true community event. We’re so proud to be a part of the Road Run,” stated John Faust, President/CEO of Diamond Credit Union.
