WASHINGTON–Democracy Federal Credit Union was recognized at the 2015 America Saves' National Savings Forum for its participation in America Saves Week. Democracy FCU Business Development Director Lisa Streeter accepted the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence award on behalf of the credit union for promoting savings and wealth building accounts during America Saves Week 2015.
Democracy FCU was one of nine credit unions selected nationally and recognized for going above and beyond to encourage and educate members about life expenses, budgeting and saving techniques. Democracy FCU educational material was delivered throughout the week through multiple channels including one-on-one financial counseling sessions, informative educational workshops, emails and social media.
“Educating members on ways to save, reduce debt and build wealth is what we do every day. Supporting and rallying behind the America Saves Week was a perfect fit for us,” said Streeter.
