SANTA FE, N.M. – Del Norte Credit Union will be the title sponsor of the annual LEGO Creations Contest hosted by the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association. The annual LEGO competition normally takes place during the Santa Fe Home Show and Expo, but that is now an online event due to the pandemic. The contest will be held virtually for the second year in a row.
The contest is open to area kids 12 and under (and their parents or guardians) who live under the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association service territories. These counties include Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos, Rio Arriba San Miguel, Mora, and Colfax. Every contestant will receive a prize packet thanks to award sponsors, DNCU, MEOW WOLF, Somos Unidos Foundation (NM United), Daniel’s Insurance, and the Santa Fe Children’s Museum. 9 grand prize winners will take home LEGO CLASSIC 484pc. Builder sets.
“The Lego competition has always been a favorite for us at DNCU, and we are so proud to be able to continue supporting this popular community event”, said Kim Currie, chief marketing officer at Del Norte Credit Union. “With a year apart, we believe the competition brings our community together, even in a virtual setting—that’s what it’s always been about.”
Winners will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges, which includes members of DNCU, SFAHBA, NM United Soccer Franchise, Santa Fe Children’s Museum and Meow Wolf Artists. Awards will be announced, and prizes will be given out on May 15th at the “Builders’ Rendezvous”, an outdoor event hosted in the parking lot of SFAHBA offices.
