SANTA FE, N.M.—Del Norte Credit Union has announced the winners of the DNCU Scholarship program for 2018. The 10 winners will each receive $1,000 toward their higher education for the 2018-19 school year to use towards the college of their choice.
“The scholarship program at Del Norte Credit Union is inspired from our relentless commitment to improve the lives of the youth in Northern New Mexico”, says Chuck Valenti, CEO & President of DNCU. “Each year we help ten students achieve a higher education so they can improve themselves and in turn uplift the communities we serve.”
Del Norte Credit Union said it makes their scholarships available to homeschool and GED students, in addition to those with a high school diploma. DNCU’s Scholarship Award is a $1,000 award given to members in good standing who are in pursuit of higher education at any college, university, or vocational school. Winners are chosen based on their academic record, work experience, statement of goals, and demonstrated leadership in their schools and communities. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America.
