De Norte LOV Awards Grants to Non-Profits

SANTA FE, N.M.–The Del Norte LOV (Living Our Vision) Foundation, an independent 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization associated with Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), has announced the five nonprofit organization recipients of its inaugural 2021 Spring Cycle Del Norte LOV Foundation Community Grant-Making Program.

Each nonprofit organization grantee will receive $2,500 in charitable funds towards their programming.

“Giving back in a big way is in our DNA—the Foundation’s grant-making initiative is just another way we fulfill our purpose to be a reliable and trusted partner in the communities we serve,” said Deb Salazar, Del Norte LOV Foundation board president and chief experience officer at DNCU.

The Del Norte LOV Foundation, with the help of its newly formed DNCU Employee Foundation Committee, reviewed a variety of applications that were submitted during the spring cycle’s request for proposal period. The Committee identified organizations that are committed to improving the lives of youth and families in New Mexico in the program impact areas of at-risk youth, arts & culture, community enrichment, and education & S.T.E.M.

The Spring Cycle Community Grant recipients are:

  • Children's Grief Center of New Mexico to support its Bereavement Support for Children, Families and Adults program

“The amount of innovative applications we received this spring cycle from worthy nonprofit organizations is a testament of how much need there is in our communities to advance the well-being of our youth and families in New Mexico. We are delighted to spread the LOV (Living Our Vision) through our Community Grant-making program,” explained Connie Tooker Nuñez, Del Norte LOV Foundation director.
