Dakotas' Credit Unions Raise Funds for CMN

BISMARCK, N.D. –The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas has raised funds for Children’s Miracle Network with a golf tournament that never actually took place.

Sanford Children's Hospital

In April, the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) planned a Charity Golf Scramble in Deadwood, S.D. as part of the Annual Summit. The event was intended to raise funds for the three CMN Hospitals in the Dakotas: Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo, N.D., Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD, and Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worse, and a snow-shoeing event would have been more appropriate on April 10th than a golf outing. With 12 inches of heavy white snow on the ground, the scramble was cancelled. Nonetheless, the vendors that sponsored the day and the participants that had paid greens fees still opted to generously donate the proceeds. “Even though the weather prevented us from holding our annual golf event, our credit unions members and our corporate partners still wanted their contributions to make a difference,”  said Jeff Olson, President/CEO CUAD.  “This is a great example of how generous and passionate credit union professionals are about the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the CU4Kids organization.  It’s really more about influencing results, improving lives and making a positive social impact for our members and communities. I sincerely appreciate our members’ commitment to support our efforts even though, in this instance, they got nothing in return.”

CUAD has just submitted the donation, which totaled $4,690 to the CMN Hospitals.
