SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn.–On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Wakota FCU joined other Minnesota credit unions and partners for CU Forward Day.
At this collaborative event, all WFCU employees volunteered roughly 52 hours benefiting residents of the John Carroll and Nan McKay buildings and the Dakota County communities. Volunteers distributed goodie bags and helped with miscellaneous tasks at the West St. Paul YMCA. In addition, a cash donation to the local non-profit, selected by the employees, was donated to the Climb Theater.
“Being a source of kindness in our communities is one of the simplest ways we can give back,” said Mary Matheson, president and CEO of Wakota Federal Credit Union. “Joining other credit unions in an effort to spread kindness across our state showcases the true power of collaboration.”
