Credit Union of Texas Helping to Provide Hunger Relief

DALLAS — Credit Union of Texas and FairLease have partnered with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) to provide hunger relief in the North Texas community this holiday season.  For every lease closed in the months of November and December, NTFB will receive a $250 donation from FairLease. NTFB is able to turn each $250 donation into 750 meals for those in need.

“The number of food insecure people in the North Texas area cannot be overstated or overlooked by any of us,” said Eric Pointer, President and CEO of Credit Union of Texas. “Credit Union of Texas has supported the North Texas Food Bank for several years, with food drives and volunteer shifts at the NTFB distribution warehouse. We are very pleased that our subsidiary FairLease has also found a meaningful way to contribute to the important fight against hunger.”

“Volunteering and giving back to the local communities we serve is a part of the history of FairLease; it’s one of our core values. It started years ago with what we called Random Acts of Fairness, where we hit the streets and treated strangers to free food and gifts, just because we could,” said James Post, President of FairLease. “Our volunteer and community service efforts have since evolved into meaningful contributions to organizations within our community, such as this holiday promotion benefitting North Texas Food Bank.”

The FairLease promotion began in early November and runs through the end of December. As of Nov. 30, FairLease has raised $20,000 in donations and anticipates a total donation of $45,000 to NTFB by the end of the promotion.  Due to a matching grant at NTFB, all FairLease donations are being doubled during the holiday season.
