FERNDALE, Mich.—During April, Credit Union Youth Month, and Credit Union ONE partnered with the Ferndale Area District Library and hosted two youth events for local children.
Credit Union ONE story tellers Andrea Pertile and Judi Desilets read books to the children about what money is, what it is used for and how to save it. The children got to sing songs, make a piggy bank, and even took home a coin saver booklet to get them started.
Meanwhile, Ferndale Area District Library's own version of “The Price Is Right” also took place, with children were invited to “Come on Down” to show what they knew about money by playing pricing games and winning prizes.
"We were very happy to partner with the Ferndale Area District Library to bring these events to local children," said Neetu Singh, Credit Union ONE Vice President of Marketing. "The Youth Month activities that we were able to bring to our branches and the community were very rewarding. We were able to engage with many young people and share with them the value of saving money.
