SACRAMENTO, Calif.—California’s Credit Unions and Nevada’s Credit Unions, together with Utah’s Credit Unions, have named Paige Haskin as director of grassroots advocacy, a newly enhanced role focused on strengthening credit union engagement with lawmakers and policymakers at both the state and federal levels.
Haskin will lead grassroots mobilization efforts across California, Nevada, Utah and Washington, D.C., overseeing campaigns designed to amplify the credit union industry’s voice on legislative and regulatory issues. She will report to the leagues’ advocacy team and help coordinate outreach to members of Congress and state legislators.
“Her appointment is a major step in how we elevate our voice across Sacramento, Carson City, Salt Lake City and Washington, D.C.,” Jeremy Empol, president and CEO of California’s Credit Unions and Nevada’s Credit Unions, said in a statement. “She has the legislative insight and ability to translate complex policies into compelling campaigns.”
Haskin most recently served as California policy manager for the Western States Petroleum Association, where she managed legislative tracking systems and organized advocacy initiatives, including lobby days and Capitol outreach efforts. In her new role, she will oversee programs including the leagues’ Advancing Communities Together campaign, Connect For The Cause communications platform and Project Zip Code advocacy tool, while also leading grassroots training for credit union advocates.
