CHIPLEY, Fla.– Community South Credit Union, saying it is putting its money where its mouth is, has been supporting local restaurants during the quarantine and feeding their dedicated employees daily at all three branches located in Chipley, Bonifay, and Defuniak Springs, Florida.
In all, the credit union invested $4,858 in meals from surrounding eateries.
CSCU said it began a phased reopening of branch lobbies in the beginning of May. Like most panhandle businesses, the credit union was closed to person-to-person transactions amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. During that time, CSCU said it recognized an opportunity to support both employees and restaurants in their communities
experiencing a significant slowdown in traffic due to the statewide stay-at-home orders.
“Every leader in our organization takes our commitment to the community very seriously,” said Jan Page, CEO. “Community is in
our name, and we’re dedicated to stepping up and providing resources whenever we can to positively impact lives affected by adversity. We encourage everyone to help support the local establishments that they love during this period of economic recovery.”
