VANCOUVER, Wash. – Columbia Credit Union helped to raise more than $24,000 in proceeds from the first annual John McKibbin Legacy Classic Golf Tournament.
Funds were presented to three Clark County non-profit agencies: Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center’s Child Abuse Assessment Endowment Fund, Pearson Field Education Center and Leadership Clark County. Each agency received a check for $8,078 during a gathering of event organizers and sponsors held at Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver.
John McKibbin passed away on March 23, 2016 and is remembered as a respected civic and business leader who was involved in many Clark County projects over the years. The John McKibbin Legacy Classic Golf Tournament, held Aug. 29, 2016 at the Tri-Mountain Golf Course, was a celebration that honored John’s commitment to the community and raised funds for three of the causes John was most passionate about.
Columbia Credit Union served as the presenting sponsor of the 2016 John McKibbin Legacy Classic Golf Tournament. Steve Kenny, Columbia Credit Union President and CEO said, “We are proud to celebrate John’s accomplishments through this tournament and, we’re honored. This tournament gave us a wonderful opportunity to make life better alongside a tremendous groundswell of community leaders. We’ve already committed as the 2017 presenting sponsor and look forward to championing John’s legacy. Our participation helped raise funds for the causes he believed in, including education, children’s health, community knowledge and leadership.”
