Columbia CU Promotes 3 People; Hires New VP

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Columbia Credit Union is proud to announce the promotions of three executive team members. Lindsey Salvestrin has been named chief operating officer, Michael Florea has been promoted to chief data officer, and Wendy Smith has been named chief risk officer.

Salvestrin previously served as Columbia Credit Union’s senior vice president and chief experience officer and was recently honored in the Vancouver Business Journal’s “Accomplished and Under 40 Class of 2016.” She began working at Columbia Credit Union in 2000 as a financial service representative after graduating magna cum laude from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management.

Florea started his career at Columbia Credit Union in 1999. Prior to his promotion to chief data officer, he served as senior vice president and systems integrations officer. Florea has a bachelor’s degree in business information systems from Linfield College and more than 20 years’ experience working in the information technology industry.

Smith has more than 20 years’ experience with credit union operations. She began working at Columbia Credit Union in 2010 as lead internal auditor. Prior to her promotion to chief risk officer, she served as vice president of Enterprise Risk Management.

Meanwhile, Columbia Credit Union is proud to welcome Luke Shepard as vice president of Business Lending.

For 16 years Shepard has worked in the banking industry in branch management positions, most recently as vice president of Commercial and Business Banking at Umpqua Bank.
