VANCOUVER, Wash. – The 6th annual Columbia Credit Union McKibbin Legacy Classic—a charity golf tournament organized by Columbia Credit Union and presented by Vesta Hospitality paying tribute to the late John McKibbin—raised $42,396 for community nonprofit organizations.
“John McKibbin was a special presence in Clark County throughout his life, serving as a member of the Washington House of Representatives and a Clark County Commissioner, raising funds for causes important to him and making life better for the community at every turn,” the credit union said. “The Columbia Credit Union McKibbin Legacy Classic honors his legacy by continuing the same spirit of enthusiastic charity.”
Proceeds from this year’s tournament went to three organizations John McKibbin supported throughout his years of community service, and that Columbia Credit Union also supports: Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center’s Child Abuse Assessment (CAAT) Endowment Fund, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity and Leadership Clark County (LCC).
Each nonprofit was given a check of $14,132 at a presentation at the Columbia Credit Union Operations Center.
“All of us at Columbia Credit Union are proud to ensure the continuation of John McKibbin’s commitment to our community,” said Columbia Credit Union President and CEO Steve Kenny. “Our mission is bringing people together to make life better for themselves and their communities and that’s what John McKibbin stood for, too. It’s gratifying to present these organizations with donations right before the holidays.”
