RALEIGH, N.C.– Coastal Credit Union president and CEO Chuck Purvis has been included among the Triangle Business Journal’s 2018 CEO of the Year Awards. Purvis was recognized at an awards event and is featured in the most recent weekly edition of the newspaper.
Coastal CU noted Purvis has amassed a collection of honors over the past two years:
- In February, Purvis was honored by the National Credit Union Foundation with the Herb Wegner Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement.
- In 2017, Credit Union Executives Society named him the 2017 Chief Executive of the Year
- In 2016, he was recognized as the Triangle Business Journal’s Business Person of the Year.
The basis for the awards includes Coastal’s strong growth since he became CEO in 2012; the credit union’s rising public profile; and the impact that it is making in the community. This past year, Purvis led the credit union in celebrating its 50th anniversary; helped spearhead the launch of a new CUSO, Constellation Digital Partners; and saw both Coastal’s sponsorship of the Coastal Credit Union Music Park and the Coastal Credit Union Foundation’s Power of Sharing event enjoy successful second years.
Highlights of Coastal’s 2017 achievements and strong financial performance were included in the Member and Community Impact Report that was released earlier in April.
