RALEIGH, N.C. – Coastal Credit Union has hired Dean Shannon as its new VP of Data Engineering and Platforms Architecture. In this role, he will be responsible for managing the team that builds critical data solutions and provides a strong platform foundation and function. His contributions will play a vital role in transformation initiatives, execution of strategy, and governance processes.
Shannon will advance Coastal’s data and business intelligence vision, utilizing his business architecture knowledge to define and execute the overall data platform roadmap. He will create plans of action for advancing data capabilities to deliver actionable information for leadership to make informed decisions and create strategic plans. Additionally, he will oversee the technology and processes by which data is collected and presented via visuals, dashboards, reports, and analytics.
Shannon will oversee the engineering and support of our platform infrastructure. He will provide technical leadership, vision, and architectural roadmaps that optimize platform infrastructure and pave the way for new business capabilities.
