Coastal Credit Union Foundation Awards More Than $310K to North Carolina Nonprofits

RALEIGH, N.C.—Coastal Credit Union Foundation said it has awarded $310,500 in grants to 20 nonprofit organizations across North Carolina as part of its first-quarter 2026 grant cycle, supporting programs tied to food security, financial education, workforce development, housing and youth services.

According to the foundation, the grants reflect its continued focus on strengthening communities and supporting nonprofit organizations addressing growing economic and social challenges throughout the region. The foundation said nonprofits submitted more than $800,000 in funding requests during the first grant cycle of 2026.

“Each year, the Foundation invests in programs that improve the lives of individuals and families, and the need continues to grow,” said Emily Nail. “In the first grant cycle of 2026 alone, nonprofit organizations submitted more than $800,000 in funding requests highlighting the significant challenges facing communities across the region.”

Organizations receiving grants during the quarter included Beacon Rescue Mission, Boys & Girls Clubs of Durham and Orange Counties, The Carying Place, Community Empowerment Fund, Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School, Habitat for Humanity of Harnett County, Haven House Services, Nate McMillan Foundation, Raleigh City Farm and Wake Education Partnership, among others.
