Clearview FCU Employee Takes Polar Plunge for Charity

PITTSBURGH–Clearview Federal Credit Union employee Heidi Hudak  plunged into 28-degree water along with 1,200 other participants for Pittsburgh’s annual Polar Plunge.

The Pittsburgh Polar Plunge is an event to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA). Funds raised from the plunge benefit nearly 20,000 athletes that participate in Special Olympics activities across the state of Pennsylvania. Hudak was part of the FBI Pittsburgh Cop Partners team, and through her dedicated fundraising efforts, she raised the most for her team – contributing more than $600 to Special Olympics. Hudak was in the 2018 FBI Citizens academy graduating class, and as a Lifetime Member, she gets invited to participate in the FBI’s community awareness event and events like the Polar Plunge.

Hudak, a first time Polar Plunge participant, is a Fraud Resolution Specialist II and has worked at Clearview for over 34 years. “It was awesome to see a very caring atmosphere with law enforcement and Special Olympians,” Hudak said. “So many people were volunteering their Saturday for a good cause and showing what it means to be a ‘Pittsburgher.’ Those that can, should help those that can’t. This is the culture I work, live, and breathe.”
