Clark County Names Howard As CTO

LAS VEGAS–Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) said  it has hired its first Chief Technology Officer, Fred Howard, as a direct response to its strategic decision to increase and improve online and mobile capabilities for its members.

Howard is a hands-on, business focused technical manager with significant experience in managing technology solutions for both new and mature companies. Howard will be responsible for IT strategic planning, IT audits, and software quality assurance at CCCU, the credit union said.

“We were looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering IT projects and systems on time and on budget,” said Matt Kershaw, CEO of CCCU. “We are highly sensitive to the administrative costs of running the credit union – the more efficient we are, the more money we can give back to our members in the annual dividend each year. Fred will help the credit union use technology to provide the best user experience for our members.”

Howard has driven some unique innovation in his previous positions, like implementing EMV, mobile product solutions for both iOS and Android for mobile payments, credit/debit cards and check payments.  He looks ahead to the technology that is being developed and how it can fill a need today.

“I love technology and I keep up with new gadgets, programs and apps in both my personal and professional life,” said Howard. “With my new position at CCCU, I will be able to combine my passion for technology with my dedication to team collaboration. I believe growing and developing teams is essential to our success at CCCU."
