VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.—Chartway Credit Union has opened a new branch in Virginia Beach’s Town Center as part of the $3.2-billion credit union’s multiyear, multimillion-dollar expansion and renovation program across Virginia, Utah and Texas. The location at 224 Constitution Drive expands Chartway’s presence in the south Hampton Roads market and features updated technology, improved accessibility and spaces designed for personalized member service.
“We’re proud to open this branch right in the heart of Town Center and invest in a community that continues to grow and evolve,” Chartway President and CEO Brian Schools said. “Our members are at the center of everything we do, and this branch allows us to meet them where they are and stay connected to the community around us.”
The grand-opening ceremony included Virginia Beach Mayor Bobby Dyer, Hampton Roads Chamber President and CEO Bryan Stephens and other community leaders. Compo Construction, the branch’s general contractor, also presented a $5,000 donation to the Chartway Promise Foundation, which supports medically fragile children and their families. The foundation awarded $25,000 to Horizons Hampton Roads in 2025 to fund five summer-camp scholarships.
The Town Center office follows new or relocated branches opened in Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Cedar City, Utah, since December 2024. Chartway plans to open another branch in Herriman, Utah, July 21 and renovate locations in Virginia Beach and West Jordan, Utah, during 2026. Chartway serves more than 265,000 members through branches in Virginia, Utah and Texas.
