Chartway FCU Makes $50K Donation to Restore Baseball Fields

TOOELE, Utah–– Chartway Federal Credit Union has made a $50,000 donation to help restore the baseball fields at Red Delpapa / Babe Ruth Park and the Dow James Park.

Tooele City Mayor Debbie Winn; Tooele City Council Member, Melodi Gochis, assistant Parks and Recreation Director, Terra Sherwood and more than a dozen members of Chartway’s board and leadership team – including Board Member Jared Perry; President & CEO Brian Schools; Executive Vice President & COO Kim Little; Regional President-Western Region Skip Wilson, and Melissa Cade, Regional President, Eastern Region, among many others – joined together to celebrate the contribution at the credit union’s Main Street branch in Tooele.

“This donation means so much to us and to know that Chartway is so committed to our community and to our kids,” said Mayor Winn during the check presentation this morning at Chartway’s Tooele branch. “We thank you so much.”

Throughout the past few months, Mayor Winn has been fundraising to provide safe, quality facilities for baseball and softball programs in the area.

“Chartway is dedicated to being a leader in the communities we serve. When Mayor Winn told us of this fundraising opportunity, we were honored to support the Tooele community as a contributor of this restoration project,” said Chartway’s President & CEO, Brian Schools.

The donation from Chartway will allow the City of Tooele to move forward with its plans to restore lighting, fencing, dugout areas, and more at the two ballparks.
