Charter Oak Provides $10K Grant To YMCA

WATERFORD, Conn.– Charter Oak FCU provided a $10,000 grant to the Ocean Community YMCA’s Mystic Branch.

The donation will be disbursed in $2,000 increments over the course of the next five years, and will be allocated towards upcoming expenses associated with renovations at the Mystic Branch. The proposed renovation will transform the existing 27,746-square-foot building into a 40,000-square-foot complex featuring a community room, teen center, gymnasium, pool, child watch center, spinning room and much more.

“We’re pleased to support the Ocean Community YMCA, and hope its Mystic Branch will serve the community at a greater capacity with these renovations,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

Charter Oak’s Community Giving Program significantly impacts and improves the community in a variety of ways. It now features a new member-focused $100,000 Matching Gifts Program and an expanded scholarship program
