WATERFORD, Conn. – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union opened its newest branch today in Mystic, Conn., expanding its branch network to 15 across eastern Connecticut and offering greater banking convenience for its growing membership in the Mystic and Stonington areas.
Charter Oak also announced that it is donating $15,000 to sponsor Mystic Aquarium’s newest exhibit, FROGS!, which debuts on May 28, as part of the credit union’s increasing commitment to support the greater Mystic community and to further assist the aquarium’s ongoing mission of conservation, education and research.
“We’re very pleased to open our newest branch in Mystic, which is our third branch opening in less than four years for our credit union,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Orenstein made his remarks during grand-opening ceremonies, which included remarks by local dignitaries and members of the Mystic and Stonington business communities.
Orenstein said the new Mystic Branch, located along the Route 27 corridor, covers about 3,300 square feet and is among the largest in the credit union’s growing 15-branch network in eastern Connecticut. “Our new Mystic branch, along with our other branch openings in Putnam in 2013 and in Waterford in 2014, reflects our financial success and growth over the past several years, as well as our commitment to better serve our communities in New London and Windham counties with closer, and more convenient, branches,” he said.
The new Mystic Branch will be managed by Michael Ballirano.
