WATERFORD, Conn.–Charter Oak FCU has been named the Best Credit Union in the Commercial Record’s annual statewide survey of the best providers in Connecticut’s banking and real estate industries.
“Charter Oak had a great year in 2019, with our strong financial performance and continued growth,” said President/CEO Brian A. Orenstein. “Our employees had a great year too, always striving to do their best so Charter Oak can be the best credit union to our members. So we’re very pleased to see that the Commercial Record’s readers in the banking and real estate industries strongly agree, as well,” he said.
Charter Oak was honored as part of the Commercial Record’s 12th annual “CR’s Best” readers’ poll. The annual survey by The Commercial Record highlights the best providers of services and goods in both the banking and real estate professions across Connecticut.
This is the third time in recent years that Charter Oak has taken top honors in the annual Commercial Record survey. Charter Oak also won Best Credit Union in Connecticut in 2016 and again in 2017. The annual statewide Commercial Record survey asks readers to vote in three categories: the top Gold category, as well as the Silver and Bronze categories.
During 2019, Charter Oak also was named Best Credit Union in several other contests. In June, Charter Oak was named a “Best in State” credit union for the second consecutive year in the annual Forbes Media Survey of the nation’s best financial institutions. In September, Charter Oak was honored as the Best Credit Union in The Bulletin newspaper’s annual “Best of Northeastern Connecticut” readers’ choice awards, and this past spring Charter Oak was named “Best Credit Union” for the fifth consecutive year in The Day newspaper’s annual Readers’ Choice “Best Of” awards.
