WATERFORD, Conn. – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has been named the Best Credit Union for the second consecutive year in The Commercial Record’s annual reader survey.
“It’s quite an honor to be chosen as the Best Credit Union in Connecticut for the second year in a row,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s president and CEO. “This has been a great year for Charter Oak in terms of our growth and our financial strength. I know that all of our employees have worked very hard to be the best, so it’s very rewarding to see that Connecticut’s banking and real estate profession strongly agree.”
The Commercial Record featured the “Best Of 2017” contest winners in its December issue, saying that thousands of votes were cast in the annual contest “and our readers had a lot of great things to say about your business and its position as a premier service provider to the real estate and finance industries in Connecticut.”
The annual survey by The Commercial Record highlights the best providers of services and goods in both the banking and real estate professions across Connecticut. Since early September, the magazine has conducted an online survey of its readers through its website, as well as promoting its annual survey through ads in the magazine and via email to thousands of readers and customers of The Commercial Record.
Charter Oak won the top Gold Award in the Best of 2017 Survey. The annual Commercial Record survey asks readers to vote in three categories: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
During 2017, Charter Oak also was named Best Credit Union in several other contests. This past spring, Charter Oak was voted Best Credit Union by readers of The Day newspaper as well as Best Credit Union in the “Best of Norwich Magazine” contest. Charter Oak was also honored as Best Credit Union in the “Best of Northeastern Connecticut” contest featured in the September issue of Norwich Magazine.
