Centris FCU Partners to Support Moving Veterans Forward

OMAHA, Neb., -- Centris FCU said it has partnered with PJ Morgan Real Estate in 2024 to support Moving Veterans Forward. The local nonprofit helps to move veterans into houses of their own.

“Each year, PJ Morgan Real Estate hosts a friendly office competition to choose our charity for the upcoming year via a chili cookoff,” said Ryan Ellis, chief executive officer and owner of PJ Morgan Real Estate. “We are so excited to partner with our friends at Centris in supporting this year’s chosen charity. Our goal is to raise both funds and awareness, and follow one of our core values to ‘enrich the community we love and live in.’”

The partnership was announced at a recent PJ Morgan employee celebration, where Centris President Steve Swanstrom presented a check for $10,000 to Ron Hernandez, executive director and founder of Moving Veterans Forward.

In addition to finding homes for veterans, the nonprofit also helps to furnish the house with new and used furniture, appliances and other household goods, including food.

The money presented by Centris will be used to purchase a new trailer.

“The trailer we have now is 33 years old and we desperately need a new one. It will be used to pick up donations and to move veterans into their new homes,” Hernandez said. “I am really moved mentally and spiritually by this gift! There is a lot of love, caring and compassion behind it,” he said.

Brian Beard, Centris assistant vice president, mortgage production, said Centris is very happy to partner with PJ Morgan in support of their 2024 charity of the year initiative. “

We look forward to helping them as they raise donations and supply volunteer hours throughout the year,” said Centris AVP-mortgage production Brian Beard. “The partnership will allow employees from each company to participate in activities that raise awareness and important funding for Moving Veterans Forward.
