Centra Foundation Offers Giving Alternative

COLUMBUS, Ind.—Centra Foundation, the charitable arm of Centra Credit Union, is offering an alternative opportunity to support the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

Rather than adopting an Angel Tag from the traditional Angel Tree, Centra members are able to make a financial donation when visiting Centra Credit Union’s Greensburg, Ind., branch. The Christmas tree at the branch is decorated with Angel Tree tags provided by the Salvation Army Decatur County Service Extension Unit. Each Tag represents the needs of a Decatur County child registered by New Directions. Each child is currently experiencing family challenges as their parent is involved in a domestic violence situation. Rather than buying gifts, Centra members will be able to make a financial donation. Wotj tags and ornaments on the tree range in value from $5-$100. Donations made at the branch will be pooled and given to the Decatur County Service Extension Unit. Salvation Army Volunteers will purchase gifts for children helped through the program.
