COLUMBIA, Md.–Credit unions and industry partners showcased their commitment to the well-being of their communities, raising more than $50,000 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at the 2024 Maryland and DC Play Yellow Charity Golf Classic hosted by Credit Union Miracle Day.
Held at Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club in Columbia, Md., the Play Yellow tournament brought together 120 golfers for a day of friendly competition and fundraising. Credit Union Miracle Day presented a check for more than $45,000 with an additional $5,700 in donations made during the tournament.
“This incredible achievement reflects the unwavering generosity of our credit unions and business partners,” said John Bratsakis, board chair of Credit Union Miracle Day and president/CEO of MD|DC Credit Union Association. “Their continued support strengthens families’ access to critical care at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. It’s a testament to the collaborative spirit of the credit union industry, making a real difference for children facing serious health challenges.”
The funds raised will directly benefit Children’s National in Washington, DC, and Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, supporting critical treatments, healthcare services, and pediatric medical equipment.
As its charity of choice, the credit union industry has raised more than $200 million for CMN Hospitals since 1996.
More than 49 credit unions and business partners sponsored the 2024 charity golf classic.
