NORTH PLAINS, Ore.–First Tech Credit Union, along with more than two-dozen other CUs, returned with their in-person Credit Unions for Kids Northwest Classic for the first time in two years to fundraise for the Children's Miracle Network Hospital Partners.
This year's tournament raised more than $1.5 million to fund life-saving research, innovative medical technology, and supportive care for children.
Beyond First Tech member and employee support, a range of local and national sponsors contributed to the event, including Mastercard, Splash Financial, CO-OP Financial Solutions, Fiserv, CUNA Mutual, CU Direct, Raymond James, as well as two dozen credit unions, First Tech said.
Coordinated by First Tech Federal Credit Union, the annual tournament has raised over $12.2 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals since 2000.
“The Northwest Classic exists because of the tremendous work and care put forth by dozens of Credit Union partners who come together for a bigger purpose,” the credit union said. “Their empathy is a compelling reminder of a community's power for good and working together to achieve a common goal. There's no better way to spend a July day than among people coming together to support their community and its future leaders.
“Devoted to providing maximum contributions to cutting-edge medical research, innovative therapies and treatments and world-class care for children—credit union members, employees and partners generously contributed to local hospitals including: Children’s Hospital Colorado, Doernbecher Children's Hospital, PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Children's Hospital—Riverbend, Seattle Children's Hospital, UC Davis Children’s Hospital, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital—Oakland.”
