GLENDALE, Ariz.–In their second donation of 2022, Credit Union West employees have gifted $6,253.50 to House of Ruth Pregnancy Care Center, a nonprofit organization in Yavapai County that provides free services and items to expecting mothers.
The organization was chosen by Credit Union West employees because of their work in providing parenting skills classes and counseling for pregnant women in need.
Since its founding in 1988, House of Ruth has served thousands of expecting parents in the Verde Valley area. The organization is located in Cottonwood, Arizona where they offer free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and faith-based counseling. Their “Earn While You Learn” classes give new parents a chance to learn important parenting skills while earning vouchers to buy essential baby items from their store, Ruthie’s Closet.
The donation was made possible by Credit Union West employees who fund the EmployeesCARE Program, which raises money for a nonprofit organization selected by employees each quarter. In addition, President and CEO Karen Roch challenged Credit Union West employees to increase giving by matching the donation with her own personal funds.
“Credit Union West is so proud to give this gift to House of Ruth to help them provide parenting tools and much needed items to families in need,” said Roch. “I love seeing our employees rise to this challenge to support our commitment to our local communities.”
