CHROME FCU Sponsors Random Acts of Kindness Week

WASHINGTON, Penn. — CHROME Federal Credit Union (FCU) recently held its 2021 Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) week. More than 20 local charities and businesses were visited by CHROME employees during RAK week and received donations, gifts, and supplies to support their mission.

Some of the RAK recipients included Meals On Wheels, Salvation Army, Humane Society, North Hills Community Outreach, Christopher’s Kitchen, Domestic Violence Services, Costumes for Courage, and more continue to be added.

CHROME selects one week each year as the official Random Acts of Kindness week. However, RAK activity is not confined by the calendar. CHROME employees are encouraged to perform Random Acts of Kindness throughout the year whenever they encounter someone who needs help.

“CHROME is committed to the credit union principle of serving our members and our communities,” said Robert Flanyak, president and CEO of CHROME. “We activity search for opportunities to perform Random Acts of Kindness to help make a difference every day.”

CHROME said its employees actively participate and embrace the opportunity to perform RAK’s. The diverse group of charities and businesses who receive RAK’s is notable. Each organization is tremendously appreciative of CHROME’s contributions, and similar to CHROME, are interested in making a difference.

“We hope to be an example for others to follow,” said Flanyak. “Random Acts of Kindness is not a special occurrence for us, it’s what we do.”
