CAPITOLA, Calif.–Bay Federal Credit Union has been recognized as a winner of the 2018 Bay Area Best Places to Work, an awards program presented by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal, for the fourth consecutive year.
A select group of 130 employers from the Bay Area were honored at the annual awards program, which was held in San Francisco on April 18. Bay Federal, which employs 220 people, was ranked No. 26 in the mid-size category. The winning organizations were honored for having created outstanding workplaces that their employees value highly.
“It’s an honor to be continually recognized as one of the best employers in the Bay Area,” said Bay Federal President and CEO Carrie Birkhofer. “I believe that our ongoing focus on employee advancement and a positive workplace culture is what sets us apart.”
Bay Federal was one of only two credit unions to make the list. 1st United Credit Union, which operates out of Pleasanton, was ranked 29th in the mid-size category.
Award applicants were evaluated and ranked across five categories according to the number of Bay Area employees. The ranking found companies in the region whose employees rate them as the highest on such values as fun, collaborative culture, solid compensation, benefits offerings, and other amenities, as well as management practices.
